### Captain's Log: November 12th – Insane Inshore Adventure Aboard the Pathfinder!
On November 12th, I had the pleasure of taking a group of enthusiastic anglers on a thrilling 4-hour inshore trip aboard the Pathfinder, targeting the incredible waters around Cedar Point. The weather was absolutely perfect—clear skies and a gentle breeze—setting the stage for what would turn out to be an unforgettable day on the water. Our goal: to catch the North Carolina Slam, and the excitement was palpable as we set off!
#### Setting Off
As my clients boarded the Pathfinder, their enthusiasm was contagious. After a brief overview of our fishing plan and safety protocols, we loaded up with gear and live bait before heading out toward Cedar Point. The anticipation in the air was electric as we cruised through the calm waters, eager to see what the day would bring.
#### First Stop: Targeting Speckled Trout
We arrived at our first fishing spot, a well-known area for speckled trout. I explained the techniques for targeting these beautiful fish, and soon we had lines in the water. It didn’t take long for the action to start! My clients began hooking into speckled trout one after another. The bites were aggressive, and the excitement onboard was infectious as we filled the cooler with some nice-sized trout.
#### Moving On: Red Drum and Flounder
With several speckled trout in the cooler, we decided to switch gears and target red drum. We moved to a new spot and quickly set our lines again. It wasn’t long before we hooked into a couple of solid red drum, thrilling my clients as they battled these powerful fish. The smiles and cheers onboard were contagious!
#### A Bit of Variety: Black Drum and Sheepshead
As we continued to fish, the action just kept coming. We managed to hook into a black drum, adding another species to our growing list. The clients were on fire, and the thrill of catching a variety of fish made for a memorable day.
To top it all off, we also hooked into a sheepshead, showcasing the incredible diversity of species in the area. It was truly an inshore fishing extravaganza!
#### Wrapping Up the Day
As our 4-hour trip drew to a close, we made our way back toward the marina aboard the Pathfinder, the sun shining and the smiles on my clients’ faces reflecting the successful day we had. We had achieved the coveted North Carolina Slam—speckled trout, red drum, flounder, black drum, and sheepshead—all in just a few hours of fishing!
Reflecting on the adventure, I felt grateful for the opportunity to share such a fantastic experience with my clients. November 12th will be remembered as a day filled with action, joy, and the thrill of the catch.
