### Captain's Log: July 6th Inshore Adventure with Martin, Donna, and Heather
The day after the Fourth of July brought a new wave of excitement as I welcomed three enthusiastic anglers—Martin, Donna, and Heather—aboard for a four-hour inshore fishing trip. The skies were clear, and the water was calm, setting the stage for what promised to be an unforgettable day of fishing in the beautiful waters of Morehead City, NC. and Cedar Point.
#### Setting Off
After a warm welcome and a quick introduction, we loaded the boat with gear and live mullet, our bait of choice for the day. The chatter among the group was infectious as we set off toward our first fishing spot. I could tell they were ready to make some memories and hopefully reel in some impressive catches!
#### First Stop: Red Drum Fishing
We arrived at a spot known for its plentiful red drum. I explained the best techniques for using live mullet, and everyone eagerly cast their lines into the water. Almost immediately, the action began! Heather felt the first tug and set the hook with enthusiasm. It didn’t take long for her to bring in a beautiful red drum, its vibrant colors shimmering in the sunlight. The cheers from the group were music to my ears, and we captured the moment with a quick photo before releasing the fish back into its home.
#### The Bonnet Head Surprise
As we continued to fish, Donna got a strong tug on her line. With a mix of determination and excitement, she set the hook and began to reel in. The battle was on! After a few thrilling moments, we brought in a bonnet head shark—a delightful surprise for the day. Donna was over the moon, and we took a moment to celebrate her catch with a few photos. It’s always a thrill to see anglers catch something unexpected!
As we cruised back to the marina, I reflected on the day. It’s days like these that remind me of the joy of fishing—not just the thrill of the catch, but the connections made and the memories created. If you’re looking for an amazing inshore fishing experience, I invite you to join me for a day on the water. You never know what you might reel in! 🎣🌊✨
