July 5th: 4hr inshore

### Captain's Log: July 5th Inshore Adventure with Rocco

As the sun rose over the coastal waters of Cedar Point on July 5th, I could sense the excitement in the air. After the Fourth of July celebrations, it was time to get back to what I love most—fishing! Today, I had a special client named Rocco joining me for a four-hour inshore trip, and I was eager to show him what our local waters had to offer.

#### Setting the Stage

Rocco arrived at the dock with a big smile and a cooler filled with drinks to keep us cool in the summer heat. After a quick introduction, we loaded the boat with gear and live bait—one of the best ways to entice the fish. The waters were calm, and the conditions looked promising for a successful day of fishing.

#### First Stop: Red Drum Territory

We set off toward a nearby estuary known for its thriving red drum population. As we cruised, I shared some insights about the local ecosystem and the best techniques for catching these feisty fish. Once we arrived at our first spot, I instructed Rocco on how to rig the live bait for maximum effectiveness.

As Rocco cast his line into the water, I watched with anticipation. Just moments later, he felt a strong tug. The excitement in his eyes was unmistakable as he set the hook and began reeling in. What followed was a thrilling battle with a beautiful red drum that didn’t want to give up easily. With a little guidance, Rocco fought hard, and soon enough, we had the stunning fish alongside the boat. We snapped a quick photo, capturing the moment before releasing it back into the water, where it would continue to thrive.

#### A Change of Pace: Bonnet Head Shark

After a successful start with the red drum, we decided to try our luck for something a little different. I suggested heading to an area where bonnet head sharks were often found. These smaller sharks are a lot of fun to catch and provide a thrilling experience for anglers.

We anchored in the new spot, and I explained the best techniques for catching these unique fish. Rocco was eager to give it a try, and before long, he felt a strong pull on his line. I could see the excitement building as he fought once again. After a few tense moments, we successfully brought a bonnet head shark to the side of the boat. Rocco couldn’t contain his excitement, and we took another photo to commemorate the catch.

#### A Relaxing Break

After the adrenaline of catching the shark, we decided to take a little break. The sun was shining, and the gentle rocking of the boat was the perfect backdrop for some relaxation. We enjoyed cold drinks and shared some fishing stories, laughing about our earlier catches. It was moments like these that made the day feel even more special.

#### Wrapping Up the Day

As our four-hour trip came to a close, we made our way back to the marina. Rocco was beaming, and it was clear that he had enjoyed the experience. We had successfully caught a red drum and a bonnet head shark, both of which added to the thrill of the day.

As we pulled into the dock, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for the opportunity to share these moments with Rocco. Fishing is about more than just the catch; it’s about the connections made and the memories created. If you’re looking for an unforgettable inshore fishing adventure in Cedar Point, I invite you to join me on the water. Who knows what surprises await? 🎣🌊✨
