August 21 : 3 Hr Eco-tour with Shrimp

### Captain's Log: August 21st – Eco Tour Adventure from Cedar Point

On August 21st, I embarked on a delightful three-hour eco tour of the beautiful waters surrounding Cedar Point, Morehead City. The sun was shining, and the gentle breeze set the perfect tone for a day of exploration and discovery. My clients were eager to experience the local marine ecosystem, and I was excited to share the wonders of our coastal waters with them.

#### Setting Off

As my clients boarded the boat, their enthusiasm was palpable. After a brief introduction and an overview of our itinerary, we loaded up with everything we needed for a fun and educational day on the water. With the boat ready and spirits high, we cast off from Cedar Point, ready to explore the rich ecosystems that make this area so special.

#### Exploring the Waters

We began our tour by cruising through the picturesque waters, taking in the stunning views of the coastline, marshlands, and vibrant wildlife. I shared insights about the local ecology, pointing out various species of birds, fish, and other marine life that call this area home. The clients were engaged and curious, asking questions and soaking up the information.

As we moved through the estuaries and tidal creeks, we spotted a variety of shorebirds and even a few dolphins playing in the distance. The natural beauty of the area was captivating, and I enjoyed sharing my knowledge about the delicate balance of the coastal ecosystem.

#### Shrimping Adventure

One of the highlights of our eco tour was the opportunity to catch fresh shrimp. We anchored in a prime location known for its abundant shrimp population. I demonstrated how to set up the nets and showed my clients the best techniques for catching these delicious crustaceans.

With everyone eager to get involved, we cast our nets and waited patiently. It didn’t take long before we started to see success! My clients were thrilled as they pulled in their nets, revealing a bounty of fresh shrimp. The excitement was contagious, and we shared laughs as we filled our catch bags.

#### Wrapping Up the Tour

As our three-hour eco tour drew to a close, we made our way back to Cedar Point. My clients left with smiles on their faces and bags full of fresh shrimp, ready to enjoy a delicious meal at home. The joy of catching their own seafood added a special touch to the day.

Reflecting on the tour, I felt grateful for the opportunity to share the beauty of our local waters and the importance of preserving our marine ecosystems. Eco tours are a fantastic way to connect with nature and learn about the unique environment we inhabit.

If you’re looking for an unforgettable adventure exploring the waters of Cedar Point and beyond, I invite you to join me for an eco tour. You’ll leave with memories, knowledge, and maybe even some fresh seafood to enjoy! 🌊🐚🦐✨
